Hey! I’m Eva, I'm a Third Year MedSci student and the Student Peer Programme Organiser for the Year 1 Cohort. I will be overseeing the PALs Programme this year!  I hope to foster a safe and encouraging work environment and help you to feel comfortable asking for help with subject specific queries, managing workload, assignments and university as a whole.

In First Year my strengths were in IHP, E-Resource and Literature Review, Microbiology, Cells and Biochemistry.

In Second Year I studied Immunopathology, Advanced Cells, Advanced Microbiology and Pharmacology, and this Year I am studying Neuroimmunology, Cell Biology of Disease, and Decolonising Medicine, I am writing a Literature Review on JAK/Stat inhibitors in Autoimmune Disease, and my Dissertation is focused on Biologic Medications.

Beyond my studies at Exeter, I aim to study a PhD in the field of Immunology and work on Autoimmune Diseases.

For any queries related to the topics above, ILP's and accessibility, or general concerns please don't hesitate to contact me! - ec757@exeter.ac.uk

Jacob Lund - Y3 SEMS

Hi! My name is Jacob and I’m a 3rd year Sports and Exercise Medical Sciences student and am looking forward to helping with the 1st year PALs programme this academic year.

In my 1st year I enjoyed the ´Fundamental skills for medical scientists’ module, especially the SCG task. I would be happy to answer any SEMs specific enquiries for those studying this course but on the medical science side I studied ´Anatomical Sciences’ in 2nd year and am currently writing a dissertation on identifying barriers in following nutrition advice for those with Type 2 Diabetes.

I hope to study medicine after my degree and have just applied for next years entry so would be happy to answer any questions regarding this or any queries generally :)

Hi my names Ed. I'm a second year MedSci student. I initially studied Geography when I first came to the University of Exeter, and I think that gives me a unique outlook and set of skills. I became a PAL with the hopes of passing on some of the knowledge which helped get me through first year.

In first year, Biochemistry and Microbiology along with IHP were where I found the most enjoyment. This year I am studying Advanced Microbiology, Pharmacology, Experimental Pharmacology and Anatomical Sciences along with the compulsory modules of DDT and EDS.

Following my degree, I hope to go into graduate medicine.

I am happy to help in anyway possible and if you have specific feedback about how sessions are run or things you'd like to see in sessions please get in contact

Hi all, I'm Ellie and I'm a second year MedSci student and I'm very happy to be one of your MedSci PALs this year. I'm also your Wellness Officer, so if you have any well-being concerns feel free to talk to me!

Last year my favourite modules were Biochemistry, IHP and Cells. This year, I'm on the Health Research pathway and my modules are: Intro to Health Research, Ethical Issues of Health Research, Advanced Cell Bio and Immunopathology. Next year, I hope to take the PTY and work with the university.

Outside of studying, I'm a part of 5 societies/clubs and I still have some free time for myself even though I'm quite busy a lot of the time!

I'm excited to meet many of you! I hope PALs helps you settle into university and enjoy your 1st year of MedSci :)

Daisy Tolley

My names Daisy, and I’m a 3rd year Medical Sciences student. I’ve really enjoyed my first two years at Exeter, especially first year which really developed my skills and confidence as a student in science. In first year I particularly enjoyed IHP, Biochemistry and Fundamental Skills for Medical Scientists. I’m also really interested in Cancer and Embryology, and currently writing my dissertation on therapeutics for breast cancer.

Once I graduate I hope to study a Masters in Embryology, with future plans to work as an embryologist in IVF clinics.

In my spare time, when I’m not studying, I love running and trying all the coffee shops in exeter!!

My main tip for first year is to just enjoy it, experiment with your interests and try everything!
